History
Company Timeline
1984 - Store #1- The Company was started by Allen and his father, Tom. Located at the corner of Bird and Red Road in Miami, this store has been serving Coral Gables and its surrounding communities.
The store first opened under the Piggly Wiggly franchise name but that was dropped and the store renamed to Milam's Markets in 1989.
1997 - Store #2 - Also a former Piggly Wiggly, this store, located in Miami Springs, was purchased and renamed to join the Milam's Markets team.
1999 - Store #3 - This former Hyde Park store located in Coconut Grove was purchased and renamed to become the 3rd Milam's Markets.
2000 - Store #4 - Formerly called Sunny Supermarket; the fourth addition of our family's business is located in Sunny Isles Beach.
2002 - The Milams build their corporate office in Miami Springs, Florida.
2009 - The Milams completely renovate and expand store #3 in Coconut Grove.
At the same time, a liquor store, Grove Liquors, is added. This store is located next to the Coconut Grove store.
2011 - The store located in Sunny Isles Beach is completely renovated.

Family Leadership
Allen Milam - President and CEO
Mike Milam - Executive Vice President
Mike started with the company in 1984 and became a business partner in 1996. Mike helps to oversee operations in all four stores as well as managing wine operations for the company.
Marie Milam Dixon - Secretary & Treasurer
Marie graduated from the University of Florida with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She joined the company in 1991.
Max Milam - Executive Vice President and CFO
Max graduated from Florida State University in 1983 with an accounting degree. After spending eight years with Ernst & Young as a public accountant, he went on to own and operate a five store restaurant chain. Max joined the family in the grocery business in 1999.
The Location at Raanan Katz's companies shopping center opened in 2000 and has been a great location in Sunny Isles Beach. The shopping center has tight parking in the front but towards the back enterance of the store there is plenty of parking. Raanan Katz commented, "The renovated store shows the Milam's Family committment to Sunny Isles Beach Residents and the surrounding communites, they did a fantastic job and we look forward to working with them for years to come".
